How a Bespoke Website Helped Appeal Catering Stand Out and Connect with More Customers

Appeal Catering came to us with a clear goal: to create a website that truly reflected their brand and made it easier for customers to connect with their services. Their old site no longer matched the quality and personality of their catering business. We worked closely with them to build a bespoke website from the ground up, aligned with their new branding. This project wasn’t just about improving how things looked, it was about creating an online presence that felt true to their business and supported their growth.

Building the Foundations of the Brand

Every strong website starts with understanding the business behind it. For Appeal Catering, that meant taking the time to really get to know their story, their values, and the way they work with their clients.

We began by talking through their goals, what they wanted the website to do for them day to day. Whether it was bringing in more enquiries, making information easier to find, or building a stronger sense of trust, these conversations shaped every decision that followed.

From there, we developed a clear brand direction. We explored the tone, visual style, and overall feel of the site, choosing colours, typography, and messaging that reflected their warm, personal approach to catering.

We also looked at how they sit within their industry, highlighting what makes them different , their focus on fresh ingredients, thoughtful presentation, and a genuinely personalised service.

This stage gave us a solid foundation, making sure everything we designed felt consistent, intentional, and true to their business.

Inside the Design and Build

With a clear direction in place, we moved into the design and build of the website.

From the beginning, Appeal Catering wanted a platform that would give them flexibility without ongoing complexity or cost. We chose to build the site on Wix, allowing them to easily manage small updates themselves without relying on a managed hosting setup.

Using Wix’s Content Manager, we structured key areas of the site so they can update content confidently without the risk of disrupting the design. It also brings together useful marketing tools and website features in one place, making it a practical and accessible option for a growing business.

Our focus throughout was to create an experience that feels easy, welcoming, and intuitive from the moment someone lands on the site.

We carefully mapped out the user journey, making sure visitors could quickly find what they need , whether that’s testimonials, pricing, or how to get in touch. Nothing feels hidden or complicated.

Visually, the design leans into their new branding, with warm tones and inviting food photography that brings their offering to life. The goal was to help people get a real sense of their quality and personality before they’ve even made contact.

We also built in practical features to support their business, including a streamlined enquiry form and a gallery that showcases both their food and the atmosphere they create at events. And of course, everything was designed to work across devices, so the experience feels just as smooth on mobile as it does on desktop.

Complete Handover Guide and Design System

Once the website was complete, we made sure Appeal Catering felt confident managing it moving forward.

We provided a full handover package that included a simple Wix guide to help them update their site as their business grows. The aim was to give them not just a website, but a system they can continue to build on without any hidden costs.

The Impact of the New Website

Since launching the new site, the difference has been clear.

  • The improved structure and enquiry process have made it easier for people to get in touch, leading to an increase in enquiries.

  • Their brand now feels more consistent and recognisable, helping build trust with potential clients from the first interaction.

And overall, the experience of using the site feels smoother and more enjoyable, whether someone is browsing on their phone or sitting at their desk.

This project is a great example of what can happen when a redesign is approached thoughtfully. With the right foundations in place, a website becomes more than just something that looks good it becomes a tool that supports the business and helps it grow.
